How to Give Access to a Facebook Page and Ad Account (So It Shows Up in Inflowave)

If you connected Facebook to Inflowave and your Page or ad account is missing from the list, Facebook did not share it with us. That almost always comes down to one of four things: which Pages you ticked when you logged in, the access your own Facebook profile has, where the ad account lives, or an Instagram account that is not linked to its Page. This guide shows how to give access to a Facebook Page and ad account so they appear in Inflowave, and how to fix each cause in a couple of minutes.

Meta moves its menus around often, so a label on your screen may read slightly differently from the one here. The path is the same.

Why a Page or ad account does not show up

Inflowave can only list the Pages and ad accounts that Facebook hands over when you connect. If one is missing, check these in order:

  1. You ticked only some Pages or ad accounts. In the Facebook window you chose "Opt in to current Pages only" and selected a few, or you skipped the ad account step. Anything you did not tick stays hidden from Inflowave.
  2. Your Facebook profile does not have full control of the Page. If someone gave you partial access (content or task access), Facebook will not let you connect the Page to an app.
  3. The ad account sits in a business portfolio where you lack "Manage ad account". Being in the business portfolio is not enough. You need full control on that specific ad account.
  4. The Instagram account is not linked to the Facebook Page. Instagram business features reach Inflowave through the Page, so an unlinked Instagram account will not appear.

Fix A solves the first cause, Fix B is a shortcut for it, and Fix C covers the second and third. Linking Instagram is covered after that.

Fix A: reconnect Facebook and tick everything

This is the fastest fix and solves most cases.

  1. In Inflowave, open the Facebook connection where you picked your Page or ad account and click Reconnect Facebook.
  2. Facebook opens a window asking to connect Social Media Connector (the app Inflowave uses). Click Edit access or Edit settings (older versions say Edit previous settings) instead of continuing straight through.
  3. On the Pages step, choose Opt in to all current and future Pages, or select every Page you want Inflowave to see. Then click Continue.
  4. Do the same on the business and ad account steps: select the business portfolio and every ad account you need.
  5. Leave all the requested permissions switched on and click Save, then Got it.

Back in Inflowave, refresh the list. The Pages and ad accounts you ticked will now appear.

If Facebook skips the selection screens and connects straight away, it is reusing your old choices. Remove Social Media Connector in Fix B first, then reconnect from Inflowave so the selection screens appear again.

Fix B: add Pages in your Facebook business integrations

You can also change what Inflowave can see without reconnecting. On Facebook, Inflowave's connection appears under the name Social Media Connector.

  1. On Facebook, click your profile picture in the top right.
  2. Click Settings & privacy, then Settings.
  3. In the left menu, under Your activity, click Business integrations.
  4. Find Social Media Connector in the Active list and click View and edit. That is the name Facebook shows for the app Inflowave uses to connect to your Pages and ad accounts.
  5. Tick the Pages and ad accounts you want to share, then click Save.

If the integration shows as expired, click View and edit, then Renew. If several people manage the same Page, each person's Facebook profile has its own settings, so make sure the person who connected Inflowave is the one doing this.

If your Pages and ad accounts are owned by a business portfolio, Social Media Connector may also appear in Meta Business Suite under Settings, Integrations, Connected apps. Check there if a change in your profile settings does not stick.

Fix C: get the right access in Meta Business Suite

If you cannot tick a Page or ad account in Fix A, your Facebook profile does not have enough access to it. Whoever has full control has to grant it, usually the business owner or the client.

Give full control of a Facebook Page

From the Page itself:

  1. Switch into the Page, then click the Page's profile picture in the top right.
  2. Click Settings & privacy, then Settings.
  3. In the left menu, click Page setup, then Page access.
  4. Next to People with Facebook access, click Add new, then Next.
  5. Search for the person by name or email and switch on Allow this person to have full control.
  6. Click Give access and confirm with the Facebook password.

Or from Meta Business Suite, if the Page belongs to a business portfolio:

  1. Open Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then Accounts, then Pages.
  2. Select the Page and click Assign people (or Assign partner if your agency has its own business portfolio).
  3. Choose the person and switch on full control for the Page, then click Assign.

The person receives an invitation and must accept it before the Page shows up anywhere, including Inflowave.

Give "Manage ad account" on an ad account

  1. Open Meta Business Suite and go to Settings (business settings).
  2. Click Accounts, then Ad accounts, and select the ad account.
  3. Click Assign people.
  4. Choose the person, switch on Manage ad account (full control), and click Assign.

Being an admin of the business portfolio does not automatically give you full control of each ad account inside it, so you may need to assign it to yourself. Once an ad account belongs to a business portfolio, permissions can only be changed here, not from Ads Manager.

Agencies working on a client's assets: the client keeps ownership and adds your agency's business portfolio as a partner, then shares the Page and ad account with you. Our guide on Facebook ad account access for agencies explains which permission level to ask for.

After the access is in place, run Fix A again so the new Page or ad account is shared with Inflowave.

If the missing item is an Instagram account, connect it to its Facebook Page:

  1. In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then Accounts, then Instagram accounts.
  2. Click Add (or Connect Instagram account) and log in to the Instagram professional account.
  3. Pick the Facebook Page it belongs to and confirm.

The Instagram account must be a professional account (business or creator). Then reconnect Facebook in Inflowave using Fix A and tick that Page.

Quick checklist before you reconnect

  • You have full control of every Page you want to connect.
  • You have "Manage ad account" on every ad account you want to connect.
  • Each Instagram professional account is linked to its Facebook Page.
  • In the Facebook window you chose "Opt in to all current and future Pages" or ticked every Page and ad account.

Once these are true, everything you need shows up in Inflowave. From there you can run your clients' Facebook and Instagram ads, answer their messages in the unified inbox, and keep each client in its own workspace.

FAQ

Why is my Facebook Page not showing up in Inflowave?

Facebook only shares the Pages you selected when you connected. Reconnect Facebook in Inflowave, click Edit access or Edit settings, choose "Opt in to all current and future Pages" or tick the missing Page, and save. If you cannot tick it, ask the Page owner to give your Facebook profile full control.

Why can't I see my ad account in Inflowave?

Either you did not select it in the Facebook window, or your profile does not have "Manage ad account" on it. Ask the business portfolio admin to assign you full control under Settings, Accounts, Ad accounts, Assign people, then reconnect Facebook in Inflowave.

How do I give someone full control of a Facebook Page?

Switch into the Page, open Settings & privacy, Settings, Page setup, Page access. Click Add new next to People with Facebook access, find the person, switch on "Allow this person to have full control" and click Give access. They need to accept the invitation.

What does "Opt in to all current and future Pages" do?

It lets Facebook share every Page you manage now and any Page you get access to later, so you do not have to reconnect each time you add a client. You still choose which Pages to use inside Inflowave.

Where do I find Business integrations on Facebook?

Click your profile picture, then Settings & privacy, Settings, and Business integrations under Your activity. On mobile, open the menu, then Settings & privacy, Settings, and Business integrations.

Do I need to be an admin of the business portfolio?

No. You need full control of each Page and "Manage ad account" on each ad account you want to connect. Portfolio admin access alone does not grant that automatically.

My Instagram account is missing. What do I do?

Make sure it is a professional account and that it is linked to its Facebook Page in Meta Business Suite under Settings, Accounts, Instagram accounts. Then reconnect Facebook in Inflowave and tick that Page.

Why does Facebook say Social Media Connector instead of Inflowave?

Inflowave connects to Facebook through a certified connection partner, and Facebook shows that partner's app name, Social Media Connector, in the login window and in your Business integrations. Granting it access is what lets your Pages and ad accounts appear in Inflowave.
